Chapter Nine
Storm
I wake up before her alarm goes off and I glance down at her it fucking hurts. She shared so much with me last night, but I’m still lying to her. She’ll hate me if she ever finds out but I don’t think I can hide it from her.
Her phone buzzes with her wake up call, and I reach for it to shut it off. Her arms tighten around me, and I want nothing more than to hold her and tell this will all be okay. The problem is I don't think it will; I need to talk to the club today.
“Hey,” she says, her voice quiet and almost shy.
“Hey Angel, how you doing?” I hold her tight to me.
"Um, okay. I slept really well." She laughs. "Maybe I'll have to keep you around after all."
"Anytime you need me." I place a quick kiss on her lips. "I'll get up and let you get ready for work." Grabbing my stuff on the nightstand, I lean down kissing her once more. "Have a good day." I don't want to go. I want to stay and tell her everything, but there's no way I could. Half of it isn't even mine to tell.
"Is everything okay?" Her voice wavers and it fucking kills me.
I turn back to her. “It will be. Bye, Angel.”
I walk out before I lose the nerve to.
I pull out my phone to call Tracker, out of everyone in the club we are the closest. We have been running the street together since we were teenagers. We also didn't start out at Deathstalkers, the idiots running our club tried to fuck them over and lost. When they came to our clubhouse, they said to make the switch or end up in a ditch. The two of us plus Rock, Colt, and Hunt chose to make the switch. Colt's been off lately, and I really don't know what's up with him.
“What’s up? It’s early as shit brother.” Tracker groans and I hear Megan’s voice in the background.
"I need you to get to the club; we have to talk to Pres." I climb onto my bike, but I can't help looking up at Becca's place.
“What about?” He’s more awake now.
“Lorenzo,” I don’t need to say much more to him.
"Shit, okay I'll meet you there in fifteen." He hangs up, and I start my bike.
The whole ride over I don't know how this shit is gonna go down. I should have said something during church on Saturday, but I didn't. She looks so different I had no idea when I first met her.
Pulling in Tracker is waiting for me. "Why are you going to bring up shit now? I thought we decided the information wasn't worth sharing and putting a target on us." He's pissed off, and I don't blame him we agreed Saturday we'd keep our mouths shut.
“You know Carter’s tutor?”
He laughs, "yea, the one you have a hard-on for. What about her?"
“Her real name isn’t Rebecca it’s Natalie Howell.”
“Fuck. You kidding? Cause this shit isn’t funny.
